It was in the kitchens of the erstwhile Nizams of Hyderabad where cultures truly blended together by taking the best of each other – be it Arabic, Mughal, Turkish or South Indian. Like most of India’s cities, Hyderabad is a blend of fairy-tale and reality, a motley mix of the old and the new, forming an exotic background for it’s much sought after and mouth-watering cuisine. Since this spice blend was meant for the palate of the Royals, the recipe and ingredients were under guard and preparation techniques confined to the secrecy of the Palace Kitchens. Through Afifa Begum, we at Junyali are proud to be able to present to you the Nizami Spice Blend directly from the Royal household. It has been refined so that it can be used for all Nizami cuisine!
